Community + Influencer Relations Manager

We are seeking an always-plugged-in, digitally-obsessed Community + Influencer Relations Manager to be the day-to-day lead on a variety of hospitality clients. This whip-smart, multi-tasker is an adept storyteller with command of both the visual arts and the written word. A social media influencer in their own right, they can’t get enough of the food and travel and are constantly out and about experiencing the hottest new thing, seeking out the latest trends, and attending new openings all while building relationships and ‘gramming their latest finds.

This person is also the driving force behind their accounts. They are deeply connected to clients, thinking up new strategies, investigating new technologies and platforms, and adjusting tactics to achieve client goals. They have a passion for the art of proactive engagement and understand the importance of being in constant contact with a client’s online community. Shifting between multiple brand voices is a breeze, be they pun-filled, pithy, or overflowing with gravitas. They also relish diving deep into the nuances of a brand to ensure authenticity.  A believer in the power of measurement, this team member loves pulling together a report, analyzing the results, and showcasing the impact of their work.

 

The Role

  • Develop digital strategy, social media voice documents, and all overarching campaign elements for restaurant, bar, travel, and product clients under the guidance of the agency’s Digital Director

  • Lead team and client calls (is the go-to for questions and brainstorming)

  • Love their clients’ and the agency’s online communities as their own; responsible for daily community management including the technical upkeep and active growth of clients’ and agency’s social media presence; is always listening and searching for online conversations to be part of

  • Demonstrate a dedication to getting the shot, capturing the scene, and perfecting the caption

    • Lead content gathering sessions for clients/agency both in-house and at off-site events/shoots

    • Create and manage content calendars; this includes producing and editing creative assets as well as copywriting

  • Life is often about who you know; this team member will be responsible for building new strong digital influencer relationships (and fleshing out partnership opportunities for clients and the agency) and maintaining our constantly expanding proprietary database of contacts in all genres from food and film, to fashion and travel

  • Know how to create and manage paid influencer relationships, ensure timelines and deliverables are met

  • Be confident about being able to plan and pull off the Instagrammable events to be at; manages concept creation, event logistics, issuing of invitations, and tracking of results, then walks clients through recaps to showcase impact

  • Plans and manages paid social media advertising campaigns as needed

  • Contributes to growing the division and team; leads by example, and is always quick to provide social media ideation and competitor analysis for new business proposals, office-wide campaigns, and office-led influencer events

  • Draft posts and aid in developing content for all agency owned channels, including website, blog and of course social handles

  • Creates all monthly reports, offering insights on key metrics

  • Constantly monitors digital trends and shares insights across teams, clients, and the agency

  • Reports to the Digital Director, works alongside clients’ PR teams

Requirements

  • Active, demonstrated prowess on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

  • An active interest about changes in the social media and tech landscapes including algorithm changes and emerging platforms

  • A compulsive curiosity and unquenchable desire to read up on all the latest restaurant and chef news in New York City, across the country, and around the world

  • Knowledge of photography, basic video production, Photoshop, InDesign

  • A keen attention to detail: self-proclaimed grammar nerd

  • 2-3 years of hospitality social media experience, preferable with an agency vs. in-house

  • Solid understanding of social media analytics

  • Adaptability: Can easily learn new platforms quickly

  • The ability to think (and act) strategically

  • Someone with outstanding follow-through who is extremely detail-oriented

  • Must bring a sense of accountability and commitment to excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with a dynamic range of people

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area of study
